Hello everyone!

I was asked to write a blog about Fairtrade and their importance for your social and environmental standards.

Defination

For those who are unfamiliar with Fairtrade. It is an institutional arrangement created to help local farmers in developing countries to work and trade under fair conditions. So, it means that small scale farmers produce bio-products and receive a fair price from exporters, as well as work under fair conditions. Furthermore, Fairtrade guarantees for local sustainability, which means they build schools and hospitals in developing countries.

Where can I find Fairtrade products?

Fortunately, you can find Fairtrade products in almost every supermarket, even in discounts. If you see an original Fairtrade logo on a product, you can be sure that is a biological/fairly product from a developing country. You can find more than over 6,000 Fairtrade products from coffee and tea.

Pros and Cons

In comparison to other products you pay a higher price, but it guarantees you that this prod-uct is biological and in fair conditions. Moreover, stands for environmental protections, which means farmers are used to produce environmentally and sustainability.

Comment

In general, Fairtrade guarantees bio products, produced under fair working conditions and it stands against climate change and exploitation.
